The Spring Fever Issue
it’s sunday morning
Sunday, March 5th 2023 - Welcome to Issue 8 of our weekly email where we gather 3 style, wellness, travel or music links worth some time on a slow Sunday morning. Make a cup of coffee, find your favorite chair and cue the Velvet Underground…
“Sunday morning, rain is falling
Steal some covers, share some skin
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave”
ONE Rosy Outlook
It’s been a long winter…maybe some rosy colored glasses could pull us through?
We are well over 100 days with snow on the ground in Bozeman and the mountains above Los Angeles are covered nearly as low as the Hollywood sign. So, enough already. It’s time to find a warm beach and wait for spring. Or, just grab a pair of Damon Albarn’s rose colored shades to brighten your day. Ray-Ban Wayfarer’s with pink lenses are a good classic choice or Moscot’s Lemtosh captures the tint vibe as well with a kaleidoscope of options.
TWO Spring Denim
Spring is no time to turn your back on denim.
Admittedly, I might be overly pro-denim. Year-around. Head-to-toe. Why not? To help us navigate the highly anticipated season change, the folks at Mr Porter were kind enough to put together Seven Fresh Ways To Wear Denim This Spring. A few of them are a long ways from my personal go to of a white t-shirt and Levi’s but still worth checking out…especially this short-sleeved denim shirt from Japanese brand Sacai (#6 on the list). THREE The Gorillaz Are Back
Speaking of Damon Albarn, the Gorillaz are back with a new pop music+art project.
The virtual band, Gorillaz, pioneered a multi-media experience that seamlessly blends music (Damon Albarn) and art (Jamie Hewlett) years ago. Now they are back with their 8th studio album. Their catalogue is a deep, wonderful rabbit-hole of thematic electronic/pop music and cartoon/pop art. It’s a perfect place to wait out the rest of winter. In this video for Apple Music, Zane Lowe talks to Damon about the new album, Coachella 2023, his West London music studio and (in the first 2 mins) shows how the drum and bass hook for their smash hit Clint Eastwood was nothing more than a preset on a simple drum machine. Enjoy. (50 min video)
